We embark on our journey early in the morning around 8am to pick up my uncle and drove to our destination. Whilst driving my dad was frantically trying to call my cousin sister for the exact location (did not do proper planning as it was impromptu). He tried calling several times but no answer, we decided to go ahead anyway. Once we reach Gotong Jaya we were circling around the shops to look for a stall called "Ah Wong's Durian King Specialist", we search and search and finally found it nested in between some restaurant and shops.
The store has been operated for over 20+ yrs and the owner knows how to speak our dialect "Hakka". We introduce ourselves and how we get to know about this place. His specialty is the Musang King durian. A durian with a very deep yellow color flesh and a very pungent aroma. The seed of the fruit is small but the flesh is thick.
It has been a while since i have tried such a nice durian. And i must say its really GOOD!!. Nothing you can find in KL. Though is not the season of durians yet, hence the price is much steeper about RM 40 per kg. We ate 5 and pack 2 for my siblings total bill was a whopping RM 400+ (dad says it's worth it).
Before we depart the uncle invite us back to visit him next month and he will bring us to his durian orchard and eat for FREE!! and help pluck the fallen durians too. He promise a fun filled and happy outing as it will be the ripe season.
Well, will definitely look forward to that :)
